Date Night with Mommy August 21, 2010

Daddy had a work function earlier this week, so Mommy and son had a night out on the town.  After a little shopping, we went to Chick-Fil-A for dinner, only we didn’t know it was kids night.  It was a madhouse, but we did get to see a rather large cow.

Duke took all of us to dinner last night at Blanc Burger.  The meal provided the opportunity to try a few new foods.

The Clean Plate Club April 6, 2010

Duke is getting really good about making it into the Clean Plate Club on a regular basis.  For all of you that your parents did not bribe you into the club while growing up, it means that you cleaned your dinner plate 100%.  This was a really big deal in the Pat Duke household.  Although Duke is really good at being in this particular club, he is struggling with becoming a member of the Clean Face Club.  Tonight’s menu and face featured a squash/corn combo, prunes (to keep him regular), pear yogurt and Cheerios (he is loving trying to pick them up on his own).  If you have any ideas as to how Duke can work on keeping his face and clothes (well, pretty much anything that he can get his little fingers on) clean while eating, please feel free to pass on any suggestions.

The doctor gave us the go ahead to try some “real” food, so we’ve tried a few rounds with rice, barley and oatmeal cereal.  It doesn’t taste like much and is mostly milk, but the hope is that he will start getting used to eating from a spoon and then we’ll move right into steak!
